Milton L. Scales
Milton L. Scales serves as a commissioner on the Board
of Ingham County Road Commissioners. The Ingham County Road Commission is responsible for
the repair, maintenance and traffic safety of more than 1,249 miles of road
throughout Ingham County. The Board of Ingham County Road Commissioners
directs a $22 million-plus annual road maintenance and construction budget, and
supervises a staff of just under 70 full-time employees. Scales
is the retired Director of Criminal Investigations for the Michigan Department
of Environmental Quality. He served the
agency for over 30 years and as chief for the last 15 years. He also served on
the Governor’s Homeland Protection Board. Scales is a member of Meridian
Township’s Planning Commission, as well as the CEO and President of M.L. Scales
& Associates, Inc., where he has served as campaign manager and advisor to
several members of Ingham County’s judiciary.
Additionally, he has served on the board of directors for various
organizations that include: Highfields, Inc.;
Volunteers of America, Lansing; Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police; and
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids.
